You can increase smartness with study. IMO, the human species natural inclination is to live in the concrete world. Abstract thinking is possible but takes study. As an example, I could use the meaning of existentialism. Modern usage of the word has become a pedantic synonym for the word "real". But that is a simplistic concrete understanding of the word and is also wrong. It takes a decade to understand existentialism in the abstract world (if one ever does), and it means perception of reality, which contains "real", but it does not simply mean real. Seeing the world in the minds eye. And we do not deduce things, we learn things. If we deduced things we would not have lived in caves for a 100,000 years.
