EU Officials Discuss Doubling Rescue System's Firepower -FT

European Union officials are discussing plans to possibly double financial-rescue efforts, including running two separate funds, the Financial Times reported Tuesday.
The proposal could also include quicker cash payments to the EUR500 billion European Stability Mechanism, the FT said.
Also Tuesday, Dow Jones Newswires, citing EU officials, reported that euro-zone governments were negotiating an increase of the bloc's bailout funds, as well as more funds from EU governments provided to the International Monetary Fund.
