Starbucks is a fun place, a nice treat, but I became aware of how big a drain on the wallet when my legal practice became limited to bankruptcy and I saw how many of my clients spend at least five bucks every day on that little treat. Instead of being a special treat, it was every day, and it adds up. 5 bucks a day is almost $2,000 a year.

The same could be said for any coffee-to-go, even at 7-11.

Once I figured out how expensive Starbucks is, especially if you need soy milk, never again. I make French press coffee in a Bodum Chambord at home, pennies a day. Travel press is polycarbonate, light in the suitcase.

My addiction is surfing the net, mostly reading news sources, although I also watch the occasional kitten video and other frivolous things. No gaming. Kids and husband play video games. Makes my brain hurt just looking at them.
