Can the Android apps that use fragments run on Gingerbread and lower? Or is it that once you convert to using fragments, it will only run on 3.0 or 4.0?

Can you provide an example of an Android App that uses fragments? I'm playing with a Honeycomb tablet now (Xoom), and most apps I've tried are obviously scaled up phone apps (Google+, Facebook, Twitter, Yelp), except the rare app designed specifically for Honeycomb (NFL 11, a bunch of games). Evernote and Netflix might look different phone vs. tablet (I no longer have a phone with which to compare the latest updates).
