In the D.C. area we have rapid transit called Metro---------until the first metro stops were put in place----Virginia and Maryland were beautiful areas to live in. As rapid transit developed, neighborhood after neighborhood has been impacted with a deteriorating quality of life-------with increased traffic congestion not less.

Now rapid transit is being put above ground from the last stations in Virginia in Falls Church to the Dulles Airport with major stops at Tysons Corner and Reston.

With this major construction above ground rather than underground the noise level and defacing of the the natural beauty of the area will be complete.

Local citizens wanted it underground as is the case in Washington D.C. for the most part-----------they did not win------they were told it was too expensive to put it under ground.

I have lost track of the construction time on this most recent above ground -----------already into the 3rd or 4th year of construction. Business along these areas are devastated. No longer are they easily accessible.

Californians or citizens of any state should have big reservations in regard to Obama's rapid transit in the air.

California is a beautiful state that attracts tourist for its natural beauty----------this is the California that is a "good part of the American Experience".
