Here is another article talking about Fast Ethernet Switching prices falling. COMS is a big player in this field.

techweb.cmp.com

(an excerpt)

If Comdex is a trade show for computer commodities,
then the new 10/100-Mbps Ethernet switches
announced this week must have felt right at home .

At less than $200 per port, Fast Ethernet switch
prices are falling like a ton of bricks, as Fast Ethernet
network card prices did earlier this year. What's
driving them is greater integration at the chip level
and intense competition. And users are reaping the
benefits.

Pancho & All, CDRD has been mentioned as a potential short several times. I did some research and came to the conclusion that CDRD has potential for big success and thus is not a good short. Of course their project is ambitious and not without risk, but will payoff big time if successful. I think success is more likely than failure.
