If any of you love to haunt wonderful old hardware stores, that are stuffed with everything imaginable (and even some things you'd never guess) and some antiques, next time you are in Seattle, look up Hardwicks, out on Roosevelt in the U District....AMAZING place....!

I recall when HD and Lowes were relatively new on the scene they hired tradespeople to work for them. Had a plumber in the plumbing section, an electrician in the electrical section. That went by the wayside long ago.

I like my local hardware store - L&G Ranch and Supply. I walk in there and go up to one of the guys and describe what I need and they say, "oh yeah, follow me," and take me right there. Now that is customer service.
