John,

My God, you mean I could save $200. buying a Yugo non-upgradable PC! At about a dollar a day, I could buy 28 weeks worth of bottled water!

I don't know if you didn't pay attention, but I said I bought Cyrix 166, not MediaGX, so it is as upgradable as any Intel chip.

If upgratibility is an issue, How about Pentium Pro. How do you upgrade that? Or Pentium MMX 233? I guess you would have to buy AMD of Cyrix 266 or 300.

Cyrix is and will be a loss leader for PC makers and retailers, they have no significant market share, they don't make money.

I think you need to tell that to Compaq.
