Dennis, TA is at oversold no matter which indicator one looks. Calling a bottom is as hard as calling a top 1 1/2 ago going into the earning season. Then the momentum money kept driving the group higher. The complete opposite happened this time. Then TA somewhat failed because there was an initial overbought and then a very slight selling. I thought that was the crossover but I was wrong and the whole group went further up into the sky.

Now, we know the first oversold is reached. Would it bounce? Could today be the start of a bounce? Or rather, another 5% bounce and then things turned crashing down further again, a la the mirror image of the euphoria last time? I wish I know. For a lot of people here active trading is not their cup of tea so pulling the trigger is kind of hard in this environment. On the other hand, if one is willing to pull the trigger more than once within the day on the same stock, then the risk of sitting on >10% paper loss is small. On the other hand, if one is disciplined enough to totally ignore what transpires between now and the end of the year, then buying now makes a lot of sense. One has to commit to holding for at least 2-3 months. I said this based on the experience of last Jan-Feb.

Good luck.
