Win or lose, Jr's championship game on Saturday was going to be his last. Though Xavier lived up to expectations and dominated the game, the kids were fine with it, knowing ain't no way any town team in CT was going to come close to beating a regional all-star team, at least this year.

The graduating Staples seniors finished with a 28-1 regular season varsity record (the loss coming by a single point) and were 5-3 in the post season, including two league championships and three playoff appearances, of which two were Class LL championship games. For those who also played JV as sophomores or juniors, add to that another 20-0 record. That’s a remarkable 53-4 combined career achievement.

To be honest, next year's team might be even better. Jr. #2 says he's ready to play a big role on that one!
