Haw TJ is trying to say: in the whole scheme of things China popular press political issues do not matter.

I'd like to believe that El Matador.. But the "mindset" of an entire nation IS important. And it's very important how that attitude is programmed by the political/business elite.

TJ has displayed the same arrogance by pronouncing that the S. China Sea belongs to China, end of story. That's the kind of attitude that leads to armed conflict, with it's obvious economic and political consequences.

And when called to task for this attitude, he decides he doesn't want to talk about it, just as he doesn't want to discuss the other "issues" that continue to shape international perceptions of China.

I'm sorry that TJ isn't open to full discussions of China, as he appears to be in criticizing every other country. But that's his problem, not mine. I can't be intellectually dishonest in my economic analysis and act like certain "inconvenient truths" are not important.
