Underlying what I am saying is my belief that Gingrich is no conservative and his record to date would affirm this. He has skewed to the right because that is the the best course of action for him to win the nomination - it is not because he is a conservative. I don't think that he has any deep rooted political philosophy. Therein lies the danger.

BINGO, and therein lies the problem for me. He is a Progressive, according to Beck, and to me, that label is worse than being a Liberal Democrat.

Rush and Newt have told the other candidates how to win, and it is so simple. Run against Obama, and knock his failed policies. The people know it, and want to hear an alternative to him.

It is the reason Newt is #1 right now. It's not his photographic TV image, or his smooth talking, or his previous sex life, that's for sure.

Romney and the others began so well the other night, then allowed themselves to fall into into Stefanopolis' trap.

I turned the damn thing off..........the fools don't have enough will power to stop stabbing each other in the back.

You make some very interesting, logical, and compelling points. What you are suggesting is certainly plausible.

Each day, we're all barely hanging on to better times from the distant past. The fact of the matter is that the United States is a rapidly-failing nation without a unified consensus or national sense of direction.

For example, Blacks, Whites, Browns, illegals, Christians, Muslims, Conservatives, Marxists, homos, and everyone else all have their own special needs and interests. Beyond food and water, few of us hold the same interests or have the same needs. Such contrast always leads to war, death, destruction, and, ultimately, Balkanization.

In today's polluted political and social climate, the political winners are the ones who can feign accommodation of the political ideologies, wants, and needs of as many citizens and denizens as possible, while offending as few as possible. The outcome, of course, is that virtually no one is pleased. That's why the public's approval of congress has stood barely above 10 percent -- 10 percent!!! -- for years.

It's a complete disgrace. A nation cannot exist like this in perpetuity. Something MUST give. -ng-

Obama? Gingrich? Romney? Anyone else? Will it really matter in the end given the rapidly changing demographics of the United States? Is this really our country anymore? The descendants of our European Founding Fathers seem to have surrendered without a fight and given away our country, our heritage, and our birthright in an shocking act of self-annihilation. -ng-
