"Being opposed to the CFPB is not the same as being for banks screwing over the little guy. This is a false statement and a strawman."

Ok what is your idea to protect people from predatory lending practices?

"Have you ever heard the saying "You can't cheat an honest man?" There was a movie by that name and at least one book. There is some wisdom in the saying. "

There may be some wisdom in the saying but as an absolute truth it is definitely false.

"The biggest difference that I see between democrats and republicans is that democrats trust their democrat politicians. Republicans certainly don't trust democrats, but we don't trust republicans either. We recognize that they are flawed human beings so we damn well better limit their power over us by keeping government small. "

This is I think the most interesting thing you said. I think it is true perhaps that democrats are more idealistic than republicans, ie, we want to believe in our leaders. I think Obama has been been a cure for that anomaly, outside of those who are so idealistic as to be classified as mentally ill. We do believe in the role of government as regulator of free enterprise. The real truth is that neither party well represents the interests of the little guy currently. We have a media that is corporate owned and controlled and we have 2 parties that are also corporate owned and controlled. The little guy really doesn't stand much of a chance of a fair shake.

Sure they'll create some bureau that doesn't accomplish anything, but at the same time they are facilitating the fleecing of the average joe.
