I think the biggest issue with any medical treatment is proper and thorough communication between patient and doctor. Hubby had to go in for a three hr dentist procedure today. He was telling me last night that every time he has to go in for dental work...........especially for a crown..........he has the dam on his mouth so long he feels like he's going to drown in his own saliva. I told him to definitely mention that to the dentist this morning so he would make sure the assistant could deal with that issue. When I asked how it went, he said he was so glad he talked to the dentist about it and they were very conscious of his needs once they knew about them. So talking to the doc and letting them know every concern or issue can really help ease any procedures or treatment. I have a tendency to write stuff down throughout the yr so I can bring my list and discuss them with my doc when I go in for my physical. I'm actually very healthy, so I usually go in once every two yrs.
