Yeah.. read that yesterday.. And was struck by the fact that DB was still leveraged to that extent. That's twice what Bear Stearns or Lehman were leveraged.. In fact, I believe that's why our 5 leading IBs requested the ability to go 40:1 leverage.. They just couldn't compete with the excessive gearing and state backed status of the European banks.

Did you know that Deutsche Bank is levered 60:1 on a TCE/assets basis, and that its Basel "risk-weighted" assets are only $450 billion, but actual balance sheet assets are $3 trillion?
