Individual(s) have a tendency to lie or misrepresent the truth on this board as there are no repercussions for not telling the truth. Anyone that would desecrate an individual who just passed away (kinda like rot in hell) has severe issues. We aren't talking about Stalin, Hitler, Amin, Hussein, etc., but we are talking about an individual who tried to better the lives of billions (although you might not agree with his management style). JMHO.

Back to looking at stocks to make money:)

Biggest Apple evangelist Guy Kawasaki, switches from iPhone4S to Galaxy Nexus...
plus.google.com
Guy Kawasaki - 12:04 AM (edited) - Public

(Thu06) This is a historic day for me: I switched from an iPhone to a Samsung Galaxy Nexus running "Ice Cream Sandwich." (I don't get the Google naming system for operating system versions...maybe a future version will be "spam musubi.") My Google buddy, + Jonathan Rosenberg, sent me one to try, and it's a lovely phone.

1) The operating system is smokin' fast--and intuitive. So this phone represents the geek's trifecta: fast, good, and cheap (free).

2) I love the little haptic "jolts" that happen when you press buttons on the screen because you really know that you pressed the button.

3) Email setup was trivially easy. And then my contacts and calendar get added to the phone. Sure, this is how Exchange is supposed to work, but I've never had to not do battle with a phone to make this happen.

4) There's a G+ app on the phone, and it works just great. And you all know that G+ is just about the center of my life these days, so this is big deal for me.

5) I notice the strip of thumbnails (see picture below) when I wrote a G+ message. What's this I wonder? It's the pictures that I took with the phone. Does this mean that phone pictures are available for me to post on Google + without any manual syncing, downloading, emailing?

Holy kaw!

I know that I can post pictures using the G+ iPhone app but composing the text that goes with the picture is too much trouble on any phone, so I was either downloading pictures from my iPhone to my Macbook or emailing the pictures to myself to post.

Not anymore. The picture of the Breitling Christmas gift in my previous post was shot with this phone, and then I added it to Google + by accessing my album via Chrome. I didn't sync the phone manually.

6) The Galaxy can use the 4G network, and the iPhone cannot. That's kind of a big deal.

7) The Galaxy is rated at 400 hours of standby battery life. My iPhone 4S is rated at 200 hours of standby, but I get about six hours of standby time. We'll see what happens in real use.

8) The Galaxy runs Flash. The pissing match between Apple and Adobe is not my problem anyway.

9) Maybe I'm paranoid, but I'm thinking that the Android version of a Google app will be better and earlier than the iOS version. Love Google Currents by the way--you should check it out.

All this happened before I made one call with the phone. I couldn't make a call because the iPhone uses a micro sim, and the Galaxy uses a sim. So I went to the AT&T store across the street from the Apple store and got a new sim with the old phone number.

BREAKING...Adobe Flash Player, Netflix streaming apps updated for Ice Cream Sandwich
By Richard Lawler posted Dec 15th 2011 6:37PM
engadget.com

Now that Ice Cream Sandwich is rolling out officially in the US on Verizon, it appears at least a few developers have seen the need to roll out Android 4.0-friendly versions of their software. Just as promised a ( final?) version of Flash Player of Android has hit the market specifically to make sure ICS devices can get the "full" web. Meanwhile, in a less melancholy update, Netflix also updated its Watch Instantly app to work on Android 4.0, something we're sure on-the-go movie watchers will appreciate. If you've been lucky enough to get your hands on a Galaxy Nexus LTE, let us know if you're seeing any other apps that either have received or need to get an update to keep things working smoothly.

[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]

BREAKING...Adobe Flash for the Galaxy Nexus Now Available
Flash for the Galaxy Nexus Now Available
by Quentyn Kennemer on December 15th, 2011 at 5:56 pm

Adobe said they’d be bringing us one last release of flash to add support for the Galaxy Nexusby the end of the year and it looks like they brought it out the same day that Verizon brought their version of the Galaxy Nexus out. You can now find it for download in the Android market. It’s Flash Mobile like you’ve always known it but early scares that the Galaxy Nexus wouldn’t get the plugin makes us happy that we’re getting it at all. Anyway, check your phone’s market now for the download. [Thanks Adam!]

Verizon stores sell out of Galaxy Nexus within hours; Amazon's Galaxy Nexus ($149) becomes the top seller
androidandme.com
Dec 15 AT 2:18 PM Taylor Wimberly

We just returned from our local Verizon Wireless store where the Galaxy Nexus sold out within the first hour. The store we visited only received 30 units, but we overheard that more were arriving daily. If you missed out on the Galaxy Nexus in stores and still want to pick one up, Amazon has the Verizon Galaxy Nexus for $149 with 2-year contract, but you’ll have to wait 8-9 days for them to ship it out.

Other retailers where the Verizon Galaxy Nexus might be available include Best Buy, Costco, Radio Shack, Fry’s and other authorized resellers.

I’ve only had the phone for a couple hours, but as Anthony described earlier it’s the best Android phone available period. If you decide to pick up the phone, don’t forget to share your Galaxy Nexus launch story with us.

OMG! Crates upon crates of Galaxy Nexus at Verizon/Vodafone selling out in minutes
This is what a crate of Galaxy Nexus phones looks like

Vodafone has just published a photo gallery of a crate of Galaxy Nexus handsets arriving in its warehouse. That’s a lot of sweet Android goodness! Wouldn’t it be a shame if one of these crates fell off the back of the truck near Delimiter HQ >:)

Samsung Galaxy SII Gaining in Brand Buzz Nexus Over iPhone
Samsung Galaxy SII Gaining in Brand Buzz Nexus Over iPhone
14DEC 2011

Watch out iPhone - Samsung is gaining traction and popularity over the iconic Apple-branded smartphone. Samsung notified the media of the BrandIndex’s buzz score for Samsung. After the release of the Samsung Galaxy Nexyus, tomorrow, we suspect the brand will get even more buzz.

Samsung has sold a record number of Samsung handsets this year which was helped by the Samsung Galaxy SII and Samsung Galaxy Note.

According to BrandIndex, Samsung has topped the iPhone in consumer perception (adults 18+). Samsung’s score rose from 19 to 26 in a fews weeks. YouGov attributes the recent surge to Samsung’s new “The Next Big Thing” Galaxy S II ad campaign that began airing in November.

We've also noticed that iPhone is not making it in all the top ten lists we have been reviewing in our annual top ten best list of best coolest smartphones this year. It may the first year that Apple or Droid doesn't top the list. The number one contender is the Samsung Galaxy SII, thus far.

The downward and upward perception movement of the iPhone and Samsung respectively is driven mostly by adults 50+.

Samsung and iPhone were measured with YouGov BrandIndex’s Buzz score, which is gleamed from asking respondents: "If you've heard anything about the brand in the last two weeks, through advertising, news or word of mouth, was it positive or negative?"

YouGov BrandIndex measurement scores range from 100 to -100 and are compiled by subtracting negative feedback from positive. A zero score means equal positive and negative feedback.

The iPhone’s buzz score began sinking around November 28, with a buzz score of 33 – the current score is 25.

Samsung's buzz score was 19 compared to the iPhone’s 29 on October 3rd, is now at 26.

Samsung and carriers are heavily promoting Samsung products. A popular holiday Samsung promotion is buyers of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 from AT&T will receive a free Samsung Galaxy S II or Samsung Galaxy SII Skyrocket with a contract.

Verizon Stores sold out of the Galaxy Nexus in just a few hours... On 2 Costco and 5 Verizon stores that I visited yesterday, all the Galaxy Nexus phones have been sold in the first 2 hours...

They said they are expecting more to drop shipped today... Galaxy Nexus is the hottest phone of the season and sales are going through the roof... it is also Amazon's top selling phone... and a lot of them are going to previous iPhone users... people are abandoning the iCRAP by the millions... I LOVE IT!!!!
