My father, who was a school shooting champ, observed that the army [in WWII] was really keen on marching around in nice straight lines, but the soldiers couldn't hit the side of a barn with their rifles. <
All I can say is that I am glad the US military never adopted "goose stepping"..

It's INCREDIBLY hard on the knees and heels.

Learning to march and salute are for the benefit of the presumed alpha males rather than actual military success. It shows what the bosses really think is important. Marching around in rank and file, like a Roman legion, is totally retarded. They are even clutching small machine guns in those videos, not swords and shields, in which case such a formation could make sense.

I can give you a tip [being a military type, you could pass the tip on]. When the opposition has machine guns, and cannon, marching in Roman Legionnaire formation makes a really good target. One shell in the middle and kablam. Or a quick squirt from a Specter or even a bloke in a tree with a machine gun and they will drop lke flies.

My father thought it would be more useful to teach soldiers how to shoot, and conduct actual conflict success.

Maybe the Al Qaeda guys are not marching in big square formations and that's why they do so well without all military mod cons. Hint ... wear Qualcomm communications gear, with mirasol, spread out so that if the Evil Doers do see a soldier, they see only one, and each soldier can report back a separate point of view. Maybe pairs would be good because some teamwork can be very useful - or even seven. But the seven should not be shoulder to shoulder [normally].

If you see goose stepping, you are watching losers because their hearts are not in it. They are being forced by bullying dumb thugs. If you see conscripts, you are seeing losers because they will turn their guns on their bosses when they get a chance, or surrender like Roman Legionnaires in World War II, in droves. A bribe would get them to swap sides. I dare say the Seals and Special Forces and SAS are not conscripts and are not very good at goose-stepping, square bashing and saluting.

Willie Apiata and his buddy couldn't goose step if you doubled their pay. I doubt they would even bother saluting

Willie hasn't even bothered shaving and hasn't got his hat on.
