Ken's boy said he would veto the extension of the payroll tax...

Is that a derogatory description?.............you're getting pretty uppity...............

Of course he will sign it and scoot off..................he's not gonna let that secret service agent do any servicing in Hawaii, if he can prevent it.

Joe, The day is still young. Ken's boy said he would veto the extension of the payroll tax cut if it contained provisions on the pipeline. I am betting he won't.

When to compromise with ones opposition is the most difficult thing to develop in the bargaining process. It is an intuitive, gut wrenching, skill that many times takes years to develop. It is kind like cards, 'you have to know when to hold them and when to fold them and get what you can achieve for the good of your people." I have been in situations where the union was out for 50 work days on a strike because the negotiators missed the settle point. The result, the organization was almost completely torn apart along with the families (management and union members). The same can happen in a National and Worldwide conflict. I admired Kennedy with his bargaining skill with Russia.

When two air traffic controllers told me in the late 80's that during the Reagan Era they had thought about taking out some of the US microwave towers, I shuddered at the thought about what would have happened to the US communication system at that time. We can be thankful that they exercised common sense.

Obama, may have to exercise bargaining sense and obtain what he could get at the time of settlement. However, he will probably have to call the Republicans out and let the worse scenario play out in order to make believers out of the opposition.
