<<I will answer a clinical question put to me in an earlier post (I am a board certified internist), why are the studies not showing side effects? Well, unless you are inside on this deal, you don't know what the studies show and neither do I. But a trial, even as large as 3500 patients can easily miss a side effect that occurs once in 10,000 uses.>> According to Zonagen's prospectus, there were no serious side effects at the 40 mg dose. A copy of this was posted some time back by BradPalm. Regarding trial population size, how much is enough? The company feels they have more than enough people they have tested, including cardiac patients. Joe spoke at length that one important reason for the open label studies is to provide enough data so as to get the least restrictive labeling contra-indications that they can. He also said that although he would like to be first, there are some competitive advantages to being a close second to the market, and S-P will attempt to exploit them. <<So, yes, the CEO said that what they will do to protect the current shareholders is to go on working as before, i.e. nothing.>> After the ambush by Arsenio(yes, I know that is not the name given to him by his parents, but it is the one given to him by Zona shareholders), you wouldn't expect the company to give advance notice of good news. There is a "white paper" being produced that will detail in writing the companies position on all issues as discussed in the conference call. There may be many announcements regarding Schering's activities with regard to Vasomax. The vitriolic and manipulative tone of Arsenio's report may result in some unforeseen consequences positive for Zona. What strikes me is that even the shorts on this board were extremely impressed by Joe Podolski. I listened to my first call with Joe in December of last year and he has always been very impressive. Never any hype, just a tremendous focus and command of the facts. He may not have been telegenic on CNBC, but this guy knows his stuff and has done a fantastic job. That is why I am so confident that Arsenio is all wet with his outrageous accusations. Short term, anything can happen, but long term, this could be huge! I intend to be there for the ride! The shorts covering will, in my opinion, just make that ride sweeter. I too would like to keep the tone of these boards civil. In the past, negative posters have come to the Zona boards with ad hominum attacks in a capricious and condescending manner. Intelligent and well thought out comments are always welcome, whether I agree or not. I will state my opinions forcefully but politely to posters such as Zebra.
