Dave......I use MetaStock because it is so much easier to enter custom formulas.

Dave:

I am not familiar with Supercharts. As of now I am using Metastock 6.5, with which I am satisfied. Sorry I couldn't help you with Supercharts.

Dave,
I didn't upgrade to SC 4.0, just use 3.0 [and 2.x before that].
Biggest advantages of SC are trendline alerts, lots less parentheses :), and referencing other securities in system tests. Biggest disadvantage for many is that support is [perceived to be] nearly non-existant.

SC 2.x could be tricked into using the full Trade Station language; many were pissed [and therefore either stayed with 2.x or jumped ship] when Omega closed that loophole in SC 3.0.
The current versions of SC can import TStation indicators and systems (the Omega site and a TS newsgroup are good sources for these) and can be hacked to modify them.

SC, like WOW, can use fundamental data--but that does limit your choice of data sources.
