Yeah, I know what you mean, it doesn't sound so good in the abstract. However, in the abstract, the infamous "cat's pee on a gooseberry bush" doesn't sound so great either but many people seem to like it. Then there's barnyard aromas (or what the French call "merde") which some find offensive but others feel add complexity and interest to the wine.

In any event, these descriptors are only my poor left brain's attempt to put into words a non verbal and largely right brain experience. I do occasionally find elements of what I call Cel-Ray in some whites (mostly Italian), and it generally adds to the interest and complexity. Trust me, it's not as bad as it sounds. OTOH, I often like wines which have that barnyard aroma so maybe I'm not to be trusted ;).
