My friend is either on her way to Korea or packing. If the Kyobo eReader can be used to surf the web in english and load english books that may be available to me online through Kyobo or elsewhere, she'll be back in the new year with the goods.

I'm hoping to be able to root the device to load other e-reader apps (ie Kindle) but I have yet to figure out that issue. My friend will also be checking out the impressions of her friends and the capability of the device to display alternative video formats. On that front, I wouldn't expect much more than that which we already know. Flash and HTML5 video capability would be nice but I'm not expecting much on those fronts. It would be really nice if I could get a more anglized version of Android from Qualcomm (via engineer?) but I see that as just as unlikely as the Kyobo version of Android running FLASH video.

Don't expect an update until the new year.

It will be interesting to follow this source of a Kyobo eReader for price reductions.
