They were big shot RIMM excutives, full of hubris but in decline. Tanked up and in executive class travel, they feel superior: < Really they were likely suffering from alcohol induced insanity and/or sociopathy> Not insanity. Just loud, obnoxious, self-important and disrespectful to other passengers [as so many people are]. The problem arose when somebody said, "Hey you losers, shut your mouths!" or equivalent. Probably it was just, "Would you two please be quiet as you are making it very unpleasant for the rest of us." They did not like being spoken to like that, being big-shots, so they went to confront the challenger. Their threat was met by more challenge and the battle was on, with the two drunks the obvious losers as nobody was on their side. You can see such behaviour all day everyday, but in less politically sensitive areas where they get away with as everyone else turns a blind eye and deaf ear for the relatively short time they have to tolerate them. In close confines of an airline cabin, over a period of time, somebody else decided they were sick of the loud, arrogant pair. You can see such behaviour right here in SI, where if somebody dares to express an alternative opinion, idea or fact from the loud, obnoxious, abusive types, they are decried and attacked by the equivalent of those two drunks.
