Tonto, I have seen some become very bad because of management changes.

We can agree with this statement. Managerial leadership style completely make the difference. I am a strong believer and as a manager used the "participatory style of management." However, if you get some management who wants to rule by the "iron fist" in a punitive manner he/she creates a hostile environment for creating issues. The community union organizer is constantly looking for what is called, "continuing multiple issues to organize around.

A participatory style of manage (win-win approach) using a collegial style of manager believing in collaboration very seldom has issues created. Therefore, there is no issues to organize around. As a manager I put in place steps for conflict resolution rather than personalized conflict (win-lose) approach. The win-lose approach is what I see happening in our current political system today.

However, there are some A__hole managers who try to exercise their person power failing to realize that it is the position which has the power rather than they. The psychological reasons for these types of individuals is here to debate.
