Spectacular video....there is nothing better than skating on new black ice...and the surrounding mountains are stunning. I have such strong memories of skating on natural ice as a kid.

a few years ago, I skated on ice like that on a spring fed lake up in the mountains north of Montreal. the ice was just like glass and it was so pitch black underneath and yet reflected everything. no idea at all how deep the water was, but it was deep. incredibly spooky and cool at the same time.
