Steve, Read the book Reckless Endangerment and then tell me I do not understand what went wrong. Have you read the book? If not - you lose my respect of your knowledge of the issue. Bob PS: It was written by a NY Times reporter - so "it must" be true. PSS: Yes - Bush used the housing boom as a positive for his administration. And yes - his administration tried to reign in Freddie and Fannie. Barney and Company (Maxine and Meeks etc.) played the race card to fend off criticism.
