Precisely my attitude. Issues of caching capacity are solvable engineering problems. No doubt it takes capital to effectively build-out a scalable system that carries the demand. Funny how money appears out of nowhere when you got demand. I'm sure I'm goona get lots of blasts, but I believe that the ATM backbone is key to @Home distributional model and that ATM vendors will get a major shot in the arm from the cable explosion. Can't see Gigernet doing it.

Here's some interesting cross-pollination from the Motley Fool board on ATHM:

I live in Phoenix, and US West is doing a DSL test out here right now. In my opinion it currently is much a worse deal than Cable modem access. It is much slower (although faster than a modem or ISDN) and they have priced it much higher at his point in time. I can't imagine any individual choosing it...

Also US West is not real well liked by many out here due to their customer service to this point). I have chosen not to get it, and to get Cox cable modem when it comes to my neighborhood. A good friend of mine has the Cable modem in San Diego... and it is truly awesome. Very, very, way fast... and it works! So I bought ATHM at 18.5 today and am in for the long haul. I feel there are a lot of buying opportunities right now.. and this is one. But hey techs are volatile.
