Steve- that had Paul's name on it. That's a little different than having a preacher who said something you didn't agree with on his own hook. I said the same thing about Perry and his association with his problematic minister- Perry isn't responsible for what other people say, unless he somehow incorporates their message in to his own. We are not going to agree on this, and I don't find anything you say convincing- and this new point is just lame. No doubt you will never see my point of view which troubles me not at all. I am not hinting it is a public works program- it IS a public works program. In a shaky economy that is something to keep in mind, and it's important- no matter how much it bothers you. It bothers ME much more that corporations can virtually buy elected officials- and that is much broader than the "military industrial complex"- - it's really the American corporate complex- and Paul doesn't give a crap about that. All this libertarian laissez faire stuff is bullcrap. Power concentrates- and it concentrates everywhere. The military is a fraction of the problem. But now isn't the time to punch it down, imo- at least not in terms of manpower.

<<<how can you ever criticize conservatives for using the Reverend Wright issue against Obama? And if Obama has some obscure paper he wrote 20 years ago it too is now free game? Is that really the issue we should be talking about?>>>

However you want to characterize it, Obama threw Wright under the Bus. He has nothing to do with the man, He disavows quite clearly whatever it is that Wright is accused of saying disparaging comments about America.

Now, I don't quite hear unequivocal denial of the views expressed in those newsletters that is written under Paul's name. There is just too much weasel language in his denials. He has more explaining to do, He can't just walk away..
