The shoe bomber was relatively young. I don't believe I've ever heard of any terrorists over 40- but hey, make the cut point 50 if you're worried about it. Profiling really ought to take that in to account. If you noticed, I wasn't talking about nationality- since we've had plenty of terrorists of different nationalities, and who adhered to various belief systems. Belief systems can change- but it seems to me the people who are most willing to throw their lives away for terrorism are young and male- the same guys who make good soldiers- 'cause you can easily sell them on the idea of dying for a cause. You get older, you get closer to death, and suddenly dying for a cause looks less appealing (not that the elderly armchair warriors and terrorists won't talk it up- but they don't want to do more than talk). Go figure.
