Being from Virginia this came to my attention as soon as it hit the news that all candidates had not qualified.

I have plowed through what appeared on the various sites of the Republican Party. What stands out from what I read is that the candidates were informed of the December deadline on October 11th for December.

Assuming this is correct---------I do not believe it is fair to expect that each of the candidates in the debates could possibly get all of the signatures required by the December deadline in such a short time from October 11th, 2011. With an advance discussion with the Candidates an emphasis should have been made in June of 2011 about the needed number of signatures.

People who watched the debates expected that they would be able to go to the Virginia Primary Election and vote. At this time many people especially Republicans will go to vote in the Primary without realizing that their candidates name is not included.

While the lawsuit was initiated by Governor Perry of Texas and supported by all of the candidates except Romney and Paul, I believe that if either Romney or Paul wants to be President they should step forward immediately on behalf of the candidates whose names will not be on the ballot requesting a rules change by the Republican Party for all candidates names to be on the ballot.

Such largesse on the part of Romney and / or Paul would most certainly assure larger number for them as well a fairness in voting for all Republicans, Independents and Democrats unhappy with Mr. Obama.
