The problem with Koh Tao is inadequate medical facilities. I got ripped up pretty decent on some corral during a dive there and I had two 'clinics' to choose from for some rudimentary patch work. This will do in your mid 30s but tack a few more decades on me and I'd certainly like to be a lot closer to some more advanced hospitals.. Since we are considering Thailand for our quasi retirement/hideout...koh tao is a negative for us.

You and I are on the same page with the rest. Interesting link you posted....I had heard that somewhere along the path. My wife and I still hold a chunk of THB waiting for the timing to be right. Disposable or not I'd rather not pull the trigger at exactly the wrong moment. I too thought there may be a resolution by now with the kings health....
