Should political upheaval occur, how much do you think it would affect places far from the Thai capital, like Koh Samui?

Meantime I have an old friend who has been living in HK for 15 years and constantly enticing me to relocate there. I too like HK real estate for the reasons mentioned, though at present its entry cost is too high a barrier.
