How so? He publicly opposed the GM and Chrysler bailouts, and has been outspoken about other government 'investments' such as Solyndra.

All right - let's face the facts. Without TARP this nation would have been in financial meltdown that would have dwarfed what we actually got. Further, for all of the crap the Fed takes - IMO they are the most responsible branch of the whole damn government. Bernanke is the Atlas carrying the country while the fools in the Congress and White House simply piss at each other.
