Craig, don't take it too hard. In fact, I agree with his reasons. Except for the PR snaphoo at Needham, the management team has shown nothing but class, and there probably are legal consequences (to showing any particular group of shareholders special consideration or access to information that isn't freely available to all) that we are not conscious of.

I think shareholder activism is a wonderful thing, but it would be a mistake to think that we have the kind of pull or expertise that someone like Michael Price (who I respect a great deal) has. In the end, we are just a bunch of upset and confused shareholders who don't fully understand (1) why the shares got hammered the way they did in the first place, and (2) why they haven't recovered when "nothing has changed." I don't really think that Cymer management can help us there anyway. I don't think they really know. At times, it seems they express astonishment that the share price is where it is. I think there was some bullshit going on two months ago, but I think we need only consider macro/market events for the answers now. There was nothing but bad news from and about tech stocks for weeks, and then the market meltdown made recoveries seem a long way off. Until the Bear mood lightens up, recovery IS a ways off, and there's nothing to do but gut it out. If the downstream cash flows are there, investors will come back to pick them up. They just may need to see them a little clearer first.

TechHunter- First and Foremost I congratulate you for a fine effort.
Look what you were able to accomplish:

1. Gather support for a positive goal- the meeting
2. Have the ability to put together 300,000 shares from a diverse group in support of that goal in a week
3. Made us (small investors) realize that many to one could make a difference result a letter by CYMER but also a result by you or this thread: COULD BE DONE
4. The result- not only is it a letter but it is a recognition- a foot in the door I can not help think what was created when they received a notice from a gentleman who had the support of 1% of their own companys share for a positive or open dialogue:
Bet ya the CFO,LEGAL,PR & staff had to put in some time in examining and figuring out exactly how to let the CEO answer you in manner like he did-->There are people in Cymer that will remember what You did- and I feel they like I thought it a GREAT JOB
bet ya that they are reading this thread right now
and bet ya if you yourself go into CYMER and introduce yourself they will say "OH your the guy that did that-that was pretty cool
5. or something more eloquent but your lucky I can spell that.

the beer's on me
