I don't think there are any lessons to be learned from Lenin's life or death other than shoot first and ask questions later.

The only thing I know for certain is the real enemy is always on the inside. Soviet Russia was never much more of a threat than the Taliban simply because American people are heavily armed and will not tolerate that level of stupidity.
