What is the left? The synonym would be liberal. I would say it is simply the opposite of the right or conservative. So what is the far right? It is total conformity to tradition. Examples of the far right are pervasive around the world. In colloquial discussion people refer to the far right in said terms e.g. Saudi Arabia is far right, Orthodox Jews, Amish, 13th century tribes. No one woudl ever say any of those cultures are liberal or left.

So I would put Sartra and Camus on the far left, meaning a total liberation of any tradition or dogma to the best of ones ability, with thought comprised soley of science and reason and compassion, only.

So I would argue the below is not left. Just crazy. I don't think left ends up in crazyland, the left ends at an existential reality that everyone forms for themselves devoid of primitive beliefs.

And this is the fight we are having around the world left against right. I think I am about as far left as one can go i.e. I profess to know nothing, and believe in almost nothing. My one exception, is kindness and I can't really defend that, so---?

<<I met a young communist in Arcata, CA. carrying a sign in the courthouse square there saying "private property is a crime!". I think that's about as far left as things get in America! I advised him that he will lead a lonely life.
