Once the going gets tough the political process is a part of the problem, not part of the solution. A good political process is always part of the solution. Always. I stake everything on this bedrock belief. Here I stand. I am almost 60; whether I live for another year, five, ten, twenty, thirty or forty years, I predict that this will be the truth for the rest of my life and the rest of your life and the rest of the lives of anybody and everybody reading this board. Forget gold. It's just a shiny bauble. Forget politicians. They are just silly men and women. Buy democracy. Buy the rule of law. Buy free speech, free trade, and free exchange of ideas.
