and i also have to wonder how differently he might govern if he had a congress that was trending conservative instead of the extreme left tilt of mass..its really hard to say....of course that presumes the F$A doesn't get highly mobilized and turn out in huge numbers and elect politicians running more gov't 'benefits'

what i find troubling about him and similarly george bush with his 'compassionate conservatism' is that he seems to be cut from the same patrician cloth and sees a bigger and ever increasing role for gov't to 'help'....which totally ignores the underlying reason as to why we are in this economic mess to begin with....

The same or more could be said for Newt Gingrich. He's ran the only congress in modern history to balance the budget four yrs in a row. Obviously Gingrich knows how to fix things and get the most out of organizations etc....foreign affairs etc......intelligent leadership etc.

Unfortunately and sadly for America, this whole election is going to once again be based on a popularity contest. Who is better looking? Who goes along to get along and doesn't make waves? One who is less likely to upset the apple cart?

If people want a boring yet capable manager who is willing to appease the inside the beltway elites and maintain decades of their status quo then Romney is your guy.
