Hello Margaret,

In regards to BMC, miracles can happen, but as a general rule when a stock falls as catastrophically as BMC, the odds of an early recovery are slim to none. And the odds of a continuation of the decline are in the high 90's. Therefore what one can surmise from all this is:

a. The stock will likely be a non performer for a long time.

b. Any money held in this stock is essentially dead money.

c. It will take a long time to restore investor confidence.

d. Invariably when bad news is so sudden and unexpected, it is usually followed by even worse news in subsequent quarters.

It is very hard to deal with an investment that has suffered such a fate, but discipline, courage and action is what makes the grade.

When traders suffer these kinds of losses, they swallow them and move on to the next opportunity. I know this is just fantasy, but just imagine if you had swithced out of BMC into RMBS yesterday. You could have potentially rocovered a significant portion of your losses in just one day!

Whenever I suffer unexpected losses, I work doubly hard to recover them as quickly as possible. Losses can actually create opportunity for profit, because they discipline you to get out and look for better situations elsewhere.

Hope this is of some help
