Medicare is a train wreck because it's health insurance with the elderly, sick and dying as it's ONLY "pool" of clients! Extending it to everyone would solve it's problems. But, that's not going to happen in America today.

I hear this line all the time, that this or that won't happen, in this case extending medicare to everyone. The problem with framing it that way is that the sense of outrage that should accompany that conclusion just disappears. It is outrageous that we know what is best, all the serious evidence says so, but the Reps refuse to engage with proposals that provide fair taxation. That anger should be the beginning of talking about medicare/health insurance rather than shoved off the table because "it can't happen."

The profit motive should be removed, as it has been in every other developed country.

one of obama's biggest failures...he had the moment and he simply did nothing.
