Bob, see my reply to Steve. From his tone, I think his claim that this is entirely camera and copier sales is entirely based on cheerleading, but I'm sure if he has any hard information, or even some good rationale for separating them out by implication, he'll post it.

I can't see any reliable way to separate out the different departments at this point. I do remember that Nikon's earnings from its camera division were pretty solid, but that's a pretty thin reed. Also, I know HP is having trouble with sales growth in its printer division.

My impression is that Canon is intentionally concealing which of its three main lines of products is responsible for the weak sales projection, while fulfilling its basic duty to warn of overall sales weakening. I would guess that they would be more likely to try to hide weakness on the equipment side -- I feel pretty sure Nikon would, since its business plan is to concentrate resources on growing the the stepper business even if the camera side dwindles -- but concerning Canon, this opinion is entirely speculation.
