You can catch a ferry in San Pedro right at the end of the Harbor Freeway - really quite simple. About an hour over there. Last time I took it, we saw a school of dolphins - probably thousands of them - front, back and either side of the boat for as far as you could see. It's whale watching season. Lots of shots of schools heading south on the news. You should have gone to Manhattan Beach to rent the bike - $7 an hour - no extra fees. Too bad we didn't plan better when you were here last time. Should have taken you and your son to Catalina instead of around the harbor. I wonder if that was the Pirates of the Caribbean they were filming that day.
