Happy New Year!

Considering the concentrated nature of your portfolio that small loss is no big deal, in fact it is amazing you did not do much worse with those holdings. Quite an accomplishment not to have followed Bruce into the abyss.

Last year was my worst ever year and I managed to blow the good recovery of 2010. The Bac- WTM trade was a disaster, my worst blunder in recent memory. But also my investment in that gas firm, Paramount, tanked when the share price fell from $4 to about $1. Luckily I had not bought more on the way down, and it was always my smallest position, but still a big opportunity cost since I put 2x the amount of capital into it as into Imp. Even in the test tube account there was a blow up with Chaoda Modern, which may or may not be a fraud.
Its shares are down about 90%. So I am not feeling too smart. My old strategy of not doing much was better--assume that 50% of the decisions will be wrong, maybe it is not such a bad idea to stick with the ones that have worked out.
