Calgary is a good checking team; they remind me of the Devils a bit. The Oilers actually outplayed the Islanders today, but lost 4-1. The Oilers are a very good skating team (not as good as Toronto), but there defense is weak. They hit 3 posts today.

Attendance is up over 28% at Nassau Colliseum this year so far in comparison to last year after 19 games, almost a sell out for Edmonton and Calgary games this week.

John Tavaras is some skater and playmaker with lots of Brian Trottier potential. Tavaras needs to develop the sniper mentality like Bossy. He looks for the perfect shot sometimes.

PS The woman who sang the Canadian National Anthem did some job Thursday night. Today the woman just didn't have the voice. I couldn't believe that there was a large segment of people in the Colliseum singing the Canadian National Anthem, a lot more than those singing the US National anthem and there was actually very strong applause after the Canadian National anthem was finished. I didn't see any Oiler fans in attendance either.
