ETFs...I picked this up somewhere along the way. Because of the natural deterioration that occurs if you are using them for anything longer than a day or two you should short the opposite. For example if I want to be long the market then I short the bear.....if i want to be short the market then I short the bull....

I pretty much only use the ETFs for short term trades...maybe 3 days max. I haven't put the above to a mathematical test but apparently it works.
