Are you arguing in support of my position? I'm confused. Isn't that exactly the definition of Keynesian spending; "policies that boost the economy in the short run"? And isn't that exactly the path we are on now with an independent central bank?

Let me ask you this Mary; if republicans take the Presidency and win the senate and house, do they have a right to stop spending? I'm not asking "should they" - I'm asking do they have that right if they should want to do so to balance the budget. That is not a hypothetical question - it will happen some time in the future. That's our form of government.
