Maybe the only explanation is drugs. Really really strong, mind altering, drugs. And I think that's also the explanation for anyone who believes the Newt.

I saw that Benen piece and also checked the Gingrich piece. I gather he's talking about the Romney-but-it-aint-mine PAC which dumped a ton of negative ads on Gingrich in Iowa. That's, of course, a hoot, because it was their own portion of the SC that made the funding of those ads possible. And, there is, also, the irony that Gingrich is, without doubt, the politician most responsible for the politics of personal destruction. He advocated, he did it, and, at least for a while, he profited from it.
