"Ayn Rand is a beginners hero"

Your assertions do not hold together. Rand would have lambasted Ron Paul FAR more severely than you have done! So it is odd to be both for and against something in this respect?!

There are only (I am guessing) a few hundred people who understand Rand's philosophy. You and Ron Paul are not in that group of people. You don't understand Spinoza, Aristotle, Nietzshe, or Hume by reading a couple of "reviews" written by people who review reviews to hook people's feelings because they cannot earn an honest living. Nor do you understand such thinkers by reading one or two or even ALL their books. You understand them over many years by studying and by THINKING DEEPLY--or you do not understand them at all. You can "review" Spinoza knowing nothing about his ideas--and thousands of people have. But writing a review on Spinoza does not qualify your comprehension of The Ethics.

Knowing how to add oranges and stack them in a box does not qualify someone to comment on set-theoretic topology or to give accurate "reviews" of texts in the field.

Ayn Rand believed in human rights and freedoms. The right to choose personal values and to be protected from the use of force or from imposing force on others. That is Objectivism in a nut shell. If those ideas appear flawed to you then perhaps the American Revolution is also something you wince at!

"Thinkers usually move past Ayn Rand pretty quickley as they learn to see the flaws in her thinking."

I guess you are not much of a thinker then because you can't stop talking about her.

Perhaps as a Dem you're also an anti-Semitic, misogynist dinosaur.
