If the goal from day one was to get a scholarship, Jr. would have enrolled in track, both indoor and out, as a freshman. Instead, he chose basketball in the winter and baseball in the spring. The problem is that baseball runs until mid summer when football camps begin, and then football runs every day until dinner time all the way into December, so there was no time to bounce a basketball, let alone join an off-season AAU league like the other kids. Rather than ride the bench, he decided Sophomore year to lift weights instead, and then decided to run track as a Junior for cardio work. At that point, yes, for the sake of college, he should have run outdoor track with the goal of attaining a time that would make him recruitable. Instead, he chose to stick with his baseball buddies he's been with since third grade. So as much as he might be needed, he doesn't have any times that would allow him to be recruited and hence be offered a scholarship. Our real hope is that his track makes him more attractive to a good school, along with the fact he's a first violinist in the orchestra.

Too much beer and air hockey for the Clemson football team last night? 63 points given up and only the third quarter. Yikes.

Come to think of it, can any bowl team play defense this year? The scores have been astronomical, and despite the fact all the field goal kickers have been choking.
