My mom's ancestors settled in New Haven in the late 1800s where they set up a tailor shop and sold clothes to Yalies. My grandfather was the first to attend college and get a "real" job (as a CPA ) where he used his money to put his brother through Yale. My father went to medical school there where he met my mother, home from Vassar, studying in the Yale library. My wife went to the Yale School of Art. My friend, a longtime professor there and former department head, gave Jr. a tour of Yale last week. Yet... aside from being a "legacy", his chances are as razor thin as everyone else's. That's just reality. Other than that, I agree with you!
